  My family stayed at Vacation rentals-Harbor Heights. This was our fourth trip to the area - and our last for a while since our daughter graduated from HSU. Staying in Trinidad made this one of our best trips. The Harbor Heights accommodations were great - especially with a coffee shop and restaurant right next door! The view of the ocean was incredible. I wanted to stay forever.

  We loved our stay in Trinidad, small town but lots of good seafoodfood. Very close to coastal and redwood hikes. The condo was quite, large and clean, great view, so even when it rained we could look out into the bay. Only complaints would be the wifi signal was a little weak and the bathroom was pretty warn but every thing else was great. Really enjoyed our weak in Trindad!

    Glad you enjoyed it. I will look to add a booster to the wifi in that unit. I had originally put a big antenae on and it made not difference! So I got a new routr but it didn't really help so will look at a putting a repeater in the unit that you stayed in. That should do the trick.

The views from the apartment are hard to put into words (calming? humbling? awe-inspiring?) and the little added touches of wine waiting and a closet full of kids toys made this rental experience a five-star review worthy. Our family looks forward to returning to this apartment on future vacations.

  This is a lovely, affordable apartment with a mesmerizing view of the ocean from the family room and kitchen/eating room. The place is spacious and so comfortable that we had a hard time leaving. We spent most of the time gazing out the enormous picture windows or down at the beach just across the street. It has a full kitchen and bath tub- both were important to us, yet unmentioned in the ad (we had a birthday cake to bake, and plenty of relaxing to catch up on!). It's located in a quiet neighborhood and sits just beside a quaint little church with a quiet garden outside. The management is professional and kind. Our only complaint was that all the dishes were dirty in the cabinet when we arrived (management promised to look into this) and we wish there had been more blankets (we like to turn off the heat at night and snuggle under blankets to stay warm). I would recommend this place and stay here again. BTW, I also recommend walking to either the restaurant next door for breakfast or Beachcomber for the best tea & coffee of your life! What a great time we had!!

  Overall my family and I were very happy with our stay. We would come back and we would recommend to friends - we already have recommended this rental. My only complaint is that there is a cleaning fee built in to the agreement but the place wasn't all that clean. We usually clean before leaving anywhere to a much higher standard than we found in this rental.
  We did have a minor plumbing problem while there. After notifying the management it was taken care of immediately; they were very responsive but we then had to clean up after the plumber, who also used a big tupperware container of ours and threw it out.

  This place is awesome! Highly recommend for anyone searching for best view for the buck. My parents were actually the renters on Harbor Heights, but my husband and I stayed 10 days in the Bouy Bell. Both places were very clean, and the views way surpassed expectations. Will definitely come back.

  The condo was bright and cheerful when we walked in for the first time. Beautiful roses on the dining table along with a bottle of wine. What a greeting! Very clean. Views were fantastic.   Great Location. Good inexpensive place to stay. Just a few things. An oven was broken. Grill was so duty that we had to scrub before we can use. Hot tab was nice in dark, but water looked duty in day light. We will rent again.

    Oven heating element broke before your arrival and we got it fixed asap. It is now fine. Grill is used by multiple units so if people don't clean it when they are done, the next people need to unless we get to it first (we clean it regularly as well). Hot tub gets cleaned everyday but if someone comes in with lotions on it can cloud up until we get over to clear it up. Glad you're coming back.

    Thank you for the feedback. People before you had a dog and it took a little while for the smell to go away. On the hot tub, it was working but went into sleep mode which it does if need used during 24 hrs. I had instructions up on how to switch it back to standard mode but they are missing so I will put new instructions up. It's really easy to do it. Also, there my number is at the hot tub to call for attention - if I was notified, I would have turned it back to the proper setting quickly. Hope that you come back!

    Sorry you feel that way about the rental agreement. It is fairly standard for a vacation rental and we have not found it to be a problem with guests. I think that anyone who has owned rental properties understands the need to have things spelled out.

  Everything was fine about the rental in Trinidad except for the stove and the jacuzzi. The oven temperature was out oif control and the water in the jacuzzi was a little green.

    Th oven knob was rotated off center and was fixed quickly. The jacuzzi needed to be shocked (oxidized) and was done. (we drain it completely regularly as well). I check it every few days and add the chemicals and water as required. I'm sorry that it wasn't in good shape for you. If you would have called the number posted at the jacuzzi, I would have come over immediately and fixed it. I am replacing the water completely more often as well to prevent this from happening again. Thank you for staying and I hope to see you here again soon!

  When we arrived, the property had not been fully cleaned with the beds stripped and the furniture a bit dusty. That said,the manager responded very promptly and the cleaning was taken care of immediately. We really enjoyed Trinidad and the view from this unit, and ultra happy that it was dog friendly. The checkout time was a bit early (9AM) due to having a pet. All in all, our family was very pleased with this rental.

  This property was perfect for my family while we were visiting Humboldt State University. We were close enough to drive into Arcata, but spent our spare time on the Trinidad Beach and hiking along the coast. The town of Trinidad had some fun restaurants, shops and a grocery store. We really loved it's small town quaintness.
  
  Inside the condo is spacious. With twin beds in one bedroom it was great for my two adult children. The livingroom has a huge sectional couch that my daughter and I could fully recline on and just touch our feet together. We enjoyed sitting in the hot tub in the evenings.

  Great place to stay. We bought you a bathtub mat - tub is very slippery! Hope your future guests appreciate it!. Really large bedrooms were great, it was really nice to be able to spread out. Construction next door was not a problem at all since bedrooms are on the other side of unit. They put up siding while we were there and it did not bother us at all.

  Staying in a home that had exquisite views of Trinidad Bay made our vacation a lasting memory. The location was within walking distance to the local store and gift shops as well as the two restaurants and beach accesses. It was about as good a "self-contained" vacation retreat as one could have. Our family especially enjoyed the lawn area where we barbecued a few evening meals while soaking in the fantastic views. All in all the Harbor Heights "mini-condo" was everything we'd hoped for and more!

  This vacation rental was fantastic. The view was spectacular. It looks out over the harbor of a small fishing village with big rocks, boats and harbor seals. It was very quiet and well appointed. The beds were comfortable and there are tables and chairs outside to sit in the yard. A very pretty garden is on the side. There is a very short walk to a pathway to the beach where there is a replica of a lighthouse and harbor seals on the rocks of the beach. It's a great place to go if you want a relaxing vacation, fishing, hiking in picturesque setting, or kayaking.

The condo was a bit short of crockery, there was no iron to go with the ironing board (though the cleaner gave us an iron from the condo next door), and no hair dryer. However, the rooms were spacious and we had a very good time.

  Everything was great, but the cushion toilet seat with a rip in it, really needs to be replaced. For less than 20 bucks they could easily add a lot to the place. Everything else was great.

  the property management was so helpful...especially reed who helped us unlock the door not once but twice after we locked ourselves out...thanks...maybe two keys??...the quality of the furniture was a little lacking and the kitchen equipment was on the slight side but the location and view from this location made up for all short comings...

  As a first timer to HUmboldt County, I was in awe at the beauty of this place. It has a beautiful view to the bay, lighthouse and trinidad island out the bay window. Perfectly located next to a great restaurant for delicious breakfast and clam chowder for lunch.
  We enjoyed the nearby trails,walking to the beach, sunset dinners at great restaurant nearby. It was a very memorable time well spent with my three children who live world apart.

  The location was perfect! Only about a 10-15 minute drive to Humboldt where our son goes to school. Great view when the fog clears, which happened every day we were there.
  The property manager was very helpful! My only complaint: it is listed as accommodating up to 6 people, however there was only dish ware (plates, cups, utensil, etc.) for 4 people. And there really wasn't any extra linens to make up the futon for someone to sleep on.
  Other wise a GREAT place!

  You never have to leave your living room to get a great view of the Harbor. Even more great views and beaches are within walking distance. Also, several good restaurants within walking distance. If you are an avid reader, you might want to bring along some higher wattage CFL's for more better reading light in the evenings.

  This could be a GREAT place if the owners only invested some energy and money into it. The location is wonderful, and the apartment very spacious, with lots of storage. But it needs a general update. If guests want to cook, they will find the kitchen ill equipped for that. Although there is plenty of space there are not enough plates and utensils. I have found most vacation rentals stocking at least a basic supply of spices, but there was nothing in Harbor Heights apart from salt and pepper.
  Overall I would recommend the place but with caution.

  We had a very nice, relaxing time. The view was great. The rooms looked good when we walked in but did find some problems. The dishwasher does not work. It had dried soap powder in it when we opened it. It will fill and drain, but the water does not spray around. Also the oven is very hard to figure out how to get it turned off. Check it out. It could be a fire danger. As to cleanliness, we had to scour the dish pan and rack before we could use them. Also it appears like the white bath rug is being laundered with the colored one. It did not look clean. I also found a big gob of hair on one of the bath towels. Don't mean to be a complainer but thought you would like to know. We did, however really enjoy our stay. The view was great. Thanks so much.

    We will double check the cleaning to make sure that doesn't happen again. Also, yes, we did replace the dishwasher just after your stay! Hopefully there will not be much of a need for the dish pan and rack, but we'll make sure it is well scrubbed! We're really glad you enjoyed your stay!

  The location of this property was excellent because you could walk to everything. the beach the shops the store and the resturant was right next door.   I highly recommend this rental! The staff was wonderful and very attentive to our requests. The location is second to none with a terrific view of the ocean and a short walk to the beach. The condo was very clean and in excellent condition. Everything was there that we needed. My family and I would definately stay there again!

  The condo was very nice. However, the dishwasher was disgustingly dirty. I ran it with just soap to try to clean. It was no help. So, we hand washed all the dishes. There was not enough dish soap.

  The hot tub was not hot enough and could not change the setting - let the manager know before your stay. Also, it is not a private hot tub - not clear from description.

    We try to make sure the hot tub is turned up before people arrive. I recommend checking it as soon as you arrive and turning up the heat if it's not hot enough yet. It doesn't take too long to heat up because it's 220. It automatically turns itself down to save pwoer after not being used for awhile.
