On edge of town so was nice and quiet after a long day of hiking. Would stay here again. Clean and well equipped.

I love this gorgeous Victorian retreat! Perfect location on the waterfront for sightseeing and shopping. Morning coffee with the loveliest view from the eat-in kitchen. Charming is an understatement! I cannot wait to come back again.

Explore our Redwood Coast vacation rentals

If like many other travelers, it’s the unforgettable nature that draws you to our Redwood Coast cabin rentals, you’ll find plenty to explore. Experience the majestic, 300-foot trees on foot or by car—there are tons of options for each. Wander along the Founders Grove Nature Trail for an easy hike right off Highway 101, or find solitude amid the ferns on the 9-mile Fern Canyon Loop Trail.

When it’s time to explore the dramatic coastline, our Redwood Coast vacation rentals are just minutes away. Glass Beach is a must-see, where bottles that made their way out to sea have washed back onto shore as beautiful rounded sea glass. If you can’t get your fill of colorful beach experiences, head to Agate Beach, where the area’s namesake gleams amid the pebbles in the California sun.

Where is California’s Redwood Coast?

The exact parameters of this special place are slightly mysterious, just like the mist-covered forests themselves. Nestled in Northern California, the area of coastline indistinctly begins at Prarie Creek National Redwood State Park and reaches its end near Humboldt Redwoods State Park. The region is comprised of state parks, national parks, and other public and private lands and is known for its misty, rainy climate that allowed these mammoth trees to flourish.

Things to do on California’s Redwood Coast

If you’d prefer to admire these gigantic trees by car, the Avenue of the Giants is a 31-mile stretch through this incredible landscape. You can even drive through the Shrine Drive Thru Tree to truly experience just how magnificently large these trees are. You’ll find the sunniest weather between June and September, but it also draws heavier crowds.

Climb the steps at Point Arena Lighthouse in Mendocino County, or walk among the dunes at Manchester Beach. In the months of November, December, March, or April, you just may catch a pod of migrating gray whales—head to High Bluff Beach for a viewpoint and be sure to bring your binoculars. At the end of your day of exploration, head back to your Redwood Coast cabin rental to unwind.

If you’re looking for a postcard-worthy day trip destination, be sure to visit Trinidad. This sleepy coastal village is a hotbed for surfers, whether you’re participating or just spectating as the waves crash on the sea stacks just offshore. Taste delicious, locally-caught seafood and explore the area by foot.

Our Redwood Coast vacation rentals offer an unforgettable experience. While there’s something to be said for beautiful Southern California’s sunshine and warm weather, the Northern California Coast is brimming with hidden gems from ancient trees to breweries and wineries to dramatic coastline. Find your home base to explore this beautiful area with one of our Redwood Coast cabin rentals.
