We had a wonderful stay. There were a few glitches, from our arrival, when the lockbox was nowhere to be found. It was late and we were tired, but Mike showed up immediately, to let us in. The hot tub stopped hearing twice. After checking the manual online, we called and Reid came and fixed it. The biggest glitch was when the water stopped in the entire house. Again, Reid to the rescue. While the problems weren't welcome, the response was impressive. Both guys were concerned for our comfort and satisfaction and we were utterly delighted at their level of attention and help. The house is like a tree house above the Pacific, beautiful. We used herbs from the garden in a couple of meals we made. We'll always hold it in our memories and hearts as the place we had our best vacation ever.

If you think the Rondovista house looks cool on the website, just wait 'till you get there. It's extra deluxe.

The Rondovista house is very unique and we stayed for a long weekend in late March 2009. The property is large and quite secluded - a deep ravine with a creek off the side and back yard and lots of space between the neighboring houses. The house is more than large enough for our family of 5. Trinidad is a cool little town and the redwoods are not far. The walks to the beach were invigorating and the beach itself is beautiful. There are sea stars and anemones in the tide pools and the sunsets were awesome. The view of the ocean from the deck and living room is amazing. We also had a great view of the stars at night from the hot tub. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen is huge and well stocked. Usually pictures on websites exaggerate, but the Rondovista house was much better than we expected. The folks at Redwood Coast Vacation Rentals were great and they made it so easy to make the rental arrangements. It’s one of our all time favorite places to stay.

The home was very beautiful but in disrepair. The disposal, dishwasher, stove and refrigerator all need to be replaced. The stairway was not built to any building or safety code. We had two small children and had to keep chairs and whatever we could find to baracade the rail as they could've fit through the bars. The worst thing was the water pump would not remain primed so we had to go outside and bang on the pump to get it started time after time. I'm so sorry to have to criticize the property so much but you did ask and I hope it helps. We still had a great time but would have been glad to pay more for better quality.
Manager Response
This is an older home and it does have it's own water supply, and the pump has been replaced since. However, the privacy and beach access make up for the older home, as well as the two living rooms and two levels of decks.

We were glad that we had rented a jeep. Was not expecting such a climb. When you rent site unseen you never really know what to expect. I asked Mike if the view represented was the same as actual. He said yes but it was even better. I loved sitting at the window in the early morning watching the day come on just as much as the sunset Beautiful view/garden/house/close to lots of wonderful places. We had a wonderful stay and wished it had been longer. WE hated to leave

Garbage disposal was not working, and the hot tub never got hot enough for us to use, and we were looking forward to that after hiking all day.
Everything else was perfect. The piano proved a real plus.

Overall the stay was exceptional. Except the fact that the spa was not working properly. On our second day, a spa maintenance person came by for regularly scheduled duties. We mentioned this to her. She agreed and told us she would contact the owners and schedule a technician to come by. Never did show up.

The home is quite nice and the flowers and herbs on the property are truly beautiful. There is a nice view of the beach from several spots in the house and deck. The house is in great shape and was very clean. The hot tub was enjoyable and somewhat necessary after experiencing the Pacific on our feet! I appreciated the fact there was no TV on the second floor (kitchen, family room and one bedroom) but we would have loved to listen to music....other than the piano. A radio/stereo would be a nice addition. Though not far, the walk to the beach is steep and a bit strenuous, especially for seniors and small children. No one complained, however, after we made it to the beautiful beach. Trinidad is a nice location for exploring the National Park and some lovely State Parks. Murphy's market is really an unexpected delight!

The Roundhouse provided a great retreat overlooking the ocean, featuring beautiful gardens and a high deck affording views ot the ocean and the surrounding woods.A unique and comfortable house complete with a piano. Good location for day trips to the Redwoods National Park,Eureka,Ferndale,and nearby the quaint town of Trinidad.

We loved our time in the Rondo Vista Del Mar. There were only a few small details that could have been better. More towels and bedding for the sleeper sofa. (We finally located the extra bedding, but couldn't get to it because it was locked up in a closet.) Another thing, the kitchen needs some washclothes and towels, it would make it easier to clean up the kitchen. And maybe some small alarm clocks! But overall, a great, fantastic place!

The listing said wireless internet was available when infact it was not. I called, and it was explained that the owners tried to get it, but couldn't. I do feel they handled it properly though because I checked and internet has since been removed from the description. It could have caused a problem if I required a connection and thought I had one, but it wasn't the case. I do believe the owners need more towels. There were only 8 towels--and 7 of us--and 3 nights. So that meant if we showered prior to using the hot tub as the rules state, you didn't have a dry towel to use when getting out of the hot tub or when showering afterwards. We could see towels in a closet in the laundry room, but they were locked up, which is odd. I am not against reusing a towel to conserve water and energy, but you need at least 2 towels so one can be used if the other is wet.

Could not have found a better place for our families Humbold graduation celebration. The home was spacious and well equiped. The grounds were beautiful, and the view spectacular. We've rented other homes by the ocean - paid more, and gotten less. We'll definitely be back for the next graduation!
